Wasatch Roller Derby plays in Salt Lake City, UTAH and travels around playing other teams in other states. Wasatch Roller Derby plays derby bouts at Hollywood Connection’s Xanadu Skating Rink (across from the E Center). We also have events planned in Park City, UTAH.

And don’t forget to ask your local roller derby skaters!! You can find Wasatch Roller Derby skaters every Monday night at Hollywood Connection’s Xanadu skating rink. WRD holds practice at 8:30, come and see what it takes to try out! Look for our logo and black and blue colors (not just bruises; look for our logo colors!). We are happy to answer questions and promote the sport. We can’t get enough of roller derby and are never sick of talking about it.

The roller derby you or your parents remember is quite a bit different than what is common today. First, most leagues, including Wasatch Roller Derby, skate on a flat track rather than a banked track. Flat track derby is just as exciting and provides seating within “skater-in-your-lap” distance for those who want to be part of the action. In addition to the track, another difference from “old-school derby” is the theatrical nature of roller derby. The sport no longer is focused on choreographed fighting, but rather the blood, sweat, and tears of strong, athletic women with incredible skating ability. What you see on the track is not planned and is a result of passionate women working very hard to win the game.

Our goal as a non-profit organization is to provide awareness and financial help to a variety of charities while we promote the sport of roller derby. Wasatch Roller Derby invests time, effort, and a portion of event proceeds to local charities. Please see the Charity section of the website for a current list of sponsored charities and an opportunity to donate yourself!
